Karwar: Minister for Large and Medium Scale Industries R V Deshpande took strong exception to the provocative statements issued by BJP leaders in connection with the death of a right wing activist in Honnavar town recently.
Issuing statements to incite people for political gains is in bad taste, said Deshpande and advised political opponents to desist from such ways. One has to view the death from a social perspective by not giving political tinge with a solitary aim to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere, he stated.
The state government has taken the death of right wing activist Paresh Mestha on a serious note. Experts have been drawn into investigation and BJP leaders issuing statements before the receipt of forensic report is an unhealthy trend, said Deshpande.
He condemned the statements issued by Union Minister Ananth Kumar Hegde, state BJP President B S Yedyurappa and M P Shobha Karandlaje over the issue.
Police have done an exceptional job and there are no lapses, said Deshpande.
Later he visited the residence of the deceased activist to console the family members.
It may be recalled that Paresh Mestha who had gone missing was found dead in a lake later.
