Karwar : Excise sleuths seized huge liquor consignment transported illegally in a truck along with firewood and saw dust from Goa to Karnataka at Anamod check post near Joida on October 25.
They nabbed Hussein Saab Mullah of Ramanagar, Santhosh Mirashi and lorry driver Krishna Parvar in connection with the incident. The Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) consignment of different fast selling brands was hidden inside fire wood and saw dust.
Excise sleuths seized liquor consignment hidden in gunny gas valued at Rs 2.06 lakhs along with the truck valued over Rs 6 lakhs during routine check near Anamod check post.Excise sleuths on suspicion managed to extract the liquor consignment from the truck laden with 16 ton firewood and saw dust.
The nabbed persons were remanded to judicial custody.
