Karwar: Heavy rains have been pouring in the Uttara Kannada district for the past one week. The Shamsuddin Circle here is inundated with water.
The Chauthani River of Bhatkal is overflowing with rain pouring in since late Saturday night. Various roads leading towards village Chowthani and the village is completely flooded.
The Shamsuddin circle of Bhatkal is inundated as there has been no outflow of water. Water has entered some homes too in the area. Locals complain that this is the reason for the flood is faulty construction of quadrangle National Highway 66. Rains are lashing in the rural areas of the taluk too. Rivers are overflowing and roads everywhere are being inundated. This has also posed problems to motorists.
