Karwar: Cops run, create awareness to prevent crime

Karwar: As part of Crime Prevention Month celebrations, City Traffic Police Station, Karwar Mobile Dealers’ Association, Rotary Club and Working Journalists’ Association jointly organised a ‘Run for Road Safety Awareness’ in the City. The awareness drive was flagged off by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Valentine D’Souza at Mitra Samaj Circle in the City.

The run started from here and passed through Subhash Circle, Bus Stand, Savita Circle, Kajubagh-Kodibagh Road, Pikale Road, Green Street, MG Road and culminated at I Love Karwar Garden near the Deputy Commissioner’s (DC) Office.

During the race, people were made aware of road safety by holding placards of road safety rules and shouting awareness slogans. City Police Station Police Inspector (PI) Siddappa Bilagi, Jail Superintendent Eranna, RMO Dr. Venkatesh, Journalists’ Association President T. B. Harikanth, Mobile Association President Mithun, Rotary President Raghavendra Prabhu, PSIs Santhosh, Nagappa and others were present.
