Karwar: Police arrested a man for allegedly trying to transport unaccounted cash worth Rs. 2 Crore in a train.

Chen Singh, a 22-year-old Rajasthani man, was travelling by train with the money in a bag. He boarded the train to Mangaluru Junction without a ticket at the CSMT Railway Station in Mumbai, informed the police.

The travelling ticket examiner asked him to provide the ticket since he was moving suspiciously, but Singh failed to do so. He did not give any convincing answers about what was in the bag.

The officer alerted the Chief Security Inspector of Konkan Railway H. K. Prasanna and when the staff opened the bag, they noticed the cash notes.

After counting the notes, it was found that they were worth Rs 2 Crore.

A case has been filed by the Karwar Police.

Singh was fined Rs 1,060 for travelling without a ticket.
