Karwar: Bilal Shaikh, a forest watcher from Virje Beat, rescued an injured flying squirrel from Kadra Forest raynge and released it back into the forest after giving proper treatment.
A rare flying squirrel accidentally fell on the terrace of the house of an NPCIL staffer in Mallapur Township while flying from tree to tree. The locals called up Forest Guard Nagaraj and informed him about the same. Nagaraj in turn had informed Bilal.
He rushed to the spot and gave necessary treatment to the flying squirrel and released it back into the forest under the guidance of Range Forest Officer Lokesh Patankar.
