Karwar: In a heartening incident, a wild bison was rescued from a forest area under Nellikoppa limits in Siddapura Taluk of the District.
The wounded bison lay weak and helpless. Locals noticed this and informed the Forest Department officials. Shivamogga Wildlife Department Doctor Dr. Murali Manohar, and Dr. Vinaya reached the spot in and treated the bison. The bison was later shifted to a safer place with the help of Forest Department personnel.
Forest Department officials said that they have taken all precautionary measures and treated the bison. Dr. Ajjayya, ACF Harish, Animal Husbandry Department’s Dr. Vivek Hegde and Range Forest Officer Basavaraj were among those present.
