Karwar: The locals around bus depot at Dandeli here in Uttara Kannada District went into a panicky mode after they spotted a six-foot-long crocodile on Thursday March 10.
However, panicky residents called the Forest Department officials, who arrived at the spot promptly, and rescued the crocodile. The officials informed that the crocodile that was caught on Thursday had minor injuries, and thus was released in the wild after due treatment.
It can be recalled here that a man was killed by a crocodile a month ago at Patel Nagar here. This incident had shaken the local people who had urged to take necessary action to keep the crocodiles at bay.
