Man contracts monkey fever in Siddapura Taluk, treated in local hospital

Karwar: Monkey fever has resurfaced in Uttara Kannada – Shivamogga belt as a case has been found in Kaanasuru Primary Healthcare Centre limits of Siddapura Taluk in Uttara Kannada District.

A source from Health Department said that a 47-year-old man from Devisara is being treated for monkey fever in the taluk hospital. As 90 per cent of the population is vaccinated there is nothing to worry, the source added.

The Kyasanur Forest Disease (KFD) is commonly known as monkey fever.
