Parrikar denies to answer questions on Mahadayi

Kumta: Even as media reports claim that the long pending Mahadayi issue will come to an end, Goa CM Manohar Parrikar was evidently uncomfortable when shot with a question about the same.

“Dont ask anything about Mahadayi river dispute. You may ask about anything else.” This was how Parrikar responded to a query on Mahadayi during his visit to Karwar to participate in the valedictory programme of G.S.B Yuva Vahini. He also visited the BJP office.

It can be recalled that his only assurance has troubled Karnataka BJP President B S Yeddyurappa, who promised of declaring a solution for the row, but he ended it just by reading a letter of assurance by Parrikar at Parivarthana Samavesha in Hubballi, which enraged the farmers. Now, they are protesting in front of the BJP office in Bengaluru as Yeddyurappa promised of solving it.

Meanwhile, regarding providing rehabilitation to the Baina beach displaced families, Manohar Parrikar said as the issue is in the court, he didn’t want to comment on it.

Parrikar arrived and returned by train, keeping up his simple image.
