Gokarna: Several tourists who had come for a happy weekend to Kudle beach in Gokarna of Uttar Kannada district were out for a ‘shock’ after they ended up getting stung reportedly by jelly fish on Sunday.
With long weekend, there was a huge influx of tourists in Gokarna area. However, as many as six tourists from Bengaluru complained of some creature having stung them, which was followed by painful rashes, at Kudle beach.
They were provided with first aid by the Home Guards and local police and they are all said to be out of danger.
Authorities, who have not confirmed if it was jelly fish which had stung tourists have said that even sting rays shown up on during specific seasons and even these fish end up stinging when disturbed.
However, many locals feel that the jelly fish may have stung tourists because thousands of jelly fish were found on the shores about two to three weeks ago at Tagore beach.
