Karwar: Six died while another sustained grievous injuries in an accident that took place between a tipper and a Maruti Omni. The accident occurred near Balase bus stop in Ankola.
The identity of the deceased is not yet ascertained.
According to sources, the tipper was moving towards Ankola. The impact of the accident was such that all six passengers in the Omni died on the spot. A man seated in the tipper sustained critical injuries and was rushed to a local hospital.
A case has been registered at Ankola Rural Police Station. Further details awaited.
