Kasaragod: The District has witnessed heavy rains accompanied by thunder, lightning and wind since the night of Monday August 29.
The heavy rains have caused extensive destruction and damage at several places. A hillock collapsed on a house at Kadappangal in Pathanadka of Mukiyar here and the house has partially collapsed.
The house belongs to Savithri and the family was rescued and are now out of danger. The houses of Murali and Mohan of Kanathur were also damaged. The interior roads have washed away due to rain. There have also been reports of damages to agricultural land and produces in many places.
