Kasaragod: The Hosadurga Police has arrested a shop owner for selling the banned pan masala product by mixing it in juice.
The accused has been identified as Abdul Sattar (48), a resident of Kadappura, Meenafis of Hosadurga He used to add pan masala powder to the juice to enhance the taste of the juice and attract customers. Several people, including students, were coming to the juice shop.
As per complaints by the locals, the police were keeping a close watch on. Last night, a police team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police P. Balakrishnan conducted a search and seized ‘Cool’, a banned pan product from the shop. Police said a request has been made to the City Council to cancel the licence of the shop.
