Kasaragod: Two youth drowned in a stream here on the evening of Wednesday September 28. The bodies of the two were found at night.
The deceased have been identified as V. Vijith (23) and R. Ranju (24). Around 4.00 pm on Wednesday, the duo had got into waters at Munambu Bridge, Bedadka along with their friends. The two drowned after which fire brigade personnel, police and locals conducted a search and found the bodies around 11.00 pm.
Vijith’s body was found near the byridge and Ranju’s body was found a short distance away from the spot. Bedadka police have conducted spot inspection and will hand over the bodies of the two to their relatives after postmortem.
Both of them were working in a private company in Chennai, had come to the house of Vishnu, colleague from Munambu. The duo had been to Goa with their and arrived at Ranipura on Wednesday. They reached Vishnu’s house in Munumbu at 3.00 pm. At night, they were to return home by train and at around 4 .00p.m, they reached the Bridge at Munambu. Later, four persons, including Vijith and Ranju, jumped into the stream. On the occasion, the duo drowned.
The relatives have reached Kasaragod after hearing the news of the tragedy and the body will be handed over to relatives after postmortem by noon, said Police.
