Kasargod: “Sahayatri”, a group of border area Kannadigas in Kasargod District on Thursday September 30 appealed to Dakshina Kannada district authorities to exempt Kasargod border area residents from the RT- PCR test.
Thousands of people in Kasargod depend on Dakshina Kannada District for employment, education, medical and business transactions. For the last one and half months, the Karnataka Government has made it mandatory for the people of Kasargod to enter Dakshina Kannada only if they have tested negative for Coronavirus and have a report of the same. Kasargod residents who work in Dakshina Kannada District have to undergo the Corona test four times a month. School-Colleges too has started already, and the Kasargod students who are studying in the educational institutions of the district also have to undergo the Vorona test every week. Thus Sahayatri team has requested DC to make it mandatory to release cross-border traffic for those who go for emergency medical services including for those who are in cross-border employment, studying and undertaking business in DK.
Lokesh Jodukallu, Krishna Kishore Enankudlu, Shivakrishna Niduvajey and Ganesh Bhatt Varanasi met DC Rajendra with the appeal. On receiving the request, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rajendra K. V. assured to take appropriate action after considering the Corona test positivity rate in the Kasargod district.
