Kasargod: The body of three persons who died in a boat accident has been found. Three persons were lost when a fibre boat overturned caught by waves on Sunday morning here and four others were rescued by the local fishermen.

The bodies of Sandeep (34), Ratheesh (35) and Karthik (22) of Kasaba Beach, were found this morning on the shores of Kottilulsm, Bekal.

Sandeep (33), Ratheesh (30) and Karthik (29) are the missing persons and Ravi (40), Shibin (30), Manikuttan (35), and Eegee Dasi are the ones who escaped.

The search was carried out till Sunday night for the body.

The tragedy occurred around six ‘o’clock Sunday morning. Seven of them were fishing in a fibre boat called Anjaneya off the coast of Kiyoor when the accident had occurred.

The four were rescued by people in another boat and local fishermen.

The bodies of the trio were found this morning on the shores between Kotikulam and Thrikkannad. Fishermen who noticed the dead bodies informed the police, and Bekal as well as Coastal police arrived on the spot. The bodies have been taken to Kasaragod General Hospital for postmortem.
