Kasaragod: Two train passengers were injured after miscreants pelted stones at the trains at Eriyal and Cherangai in the district on the night of Friday July 29.

The trains from Mangaluru to Kannur and Mangaluru to Thiruvananthapuram were stoned by miscreants. Five boys were seen running by passengers, who reported the incident to the railway police.

Similar cases have been reported from the district. Miscreants often attack moving trains before running away from the spot.

Stones were found on rail tracks recently in the districts of Bandyodu Muttam in the Kasargod District, Kotikulam close to Bekal, and Pappinacherry in the Kannur District. A major tragedy was avoided as they were quickly removed from the tracks.
