Kasaragod: A new suspect was arrested at Manjeshwar by the investigation team in the Rajdhani Jewellery robbery case of Hosangady. This arrest brought the total number of people arrested to two.

Mohammed Riyaz (32), a Hosmar resident in the Karkala taluk and a team lead by Kasargod DySP Balakrishnan Nair and Manjeshwar Station Inspector Santhosh arrested him from the Kudremukh region.

Sathyesh K.P. alias Kiran (35), a native of Kodungallur in Thrissur, was earlier arrested and f ive other suspects who were closely involved in the crime are abscounding. The robbery occurred on July 26th.

According to the sources, a gang of seven attacked and tied security guard Abdullah and stole 15 kg of silver jewellery and Rs. 4.5 lakh in cash. The car used in the crime was discovered abandoned within the Ullal Police station’s jurisdiction. The Police discovered seven kilos of silver jewellery and Rs. 2 lakhs. Sources state that the accused made his getaway with the rest of the loot in another car.

The investigating officials stated that they have received information on all of the absconding suspects and soon they will be arrested.
