Kundapur: An extramarital affair seems to be the reason behind the suicide pact of the family of four at Ganganadu near Byndoor. Two children died in their attempt to commit suicide, while the parents are now recovering at a hospital.

Shankaranarayana Hebbar, who wrote the death note, blames his extramarital affair as the reason behind their suicide. According to their neighbours, Shankaranarayana, who used to work as a cook, lived with a young girl, while his wife used to sell milk to look after the family.
It is said that the girl married another man, and Shankaranarayana since then came back to live with his family. A depressed Shankaranarayana had decided to end his live along with his family, it is suspected.
