Mangaluru: The Kambala Academy’s Board of Directors announced in a press release that the 2021 Kambala Jockey’s Training Camp organised by the Academy, will begin on September 19.
The selection process of candidates for the sixth year annual training camp will be held at the Veerarani Abbakka Cultural Village Kotichennayya Kambala Stadium on September 7 at 9.00 am
Speaking to News Karnataka Prof. Gunapal Kadamba informed that, the candidate must be a farmer or belong to an agriculture background. A person should belong to the age group of 18 to 25 years. Following the Covid norms, at least they must have taken 1 dose of vaccine.”
He further noted that interested candidates must submit a photocopy of their Aadhar Card and two passport size photos. For further information, interested candidates can contact the academy in this regard.
“NIS coaches will select 25+ candidates, after a medical checkup. 30 is a maximum limit of intake. Those who are found fit enough will be sent for coaching. NIS Coaches, the physical education instructors will give the coaching. Later, they will conduct nearly 16 types of fitness tests too,” he added.
“The Kambala Academy will spend nearly Rs 25K-30K on each candidate. Yoga, exercises are made compulsory for the participants who join the camp. Yoga, Physiotherapy, Dieticians, and Psychologists will hold the sessions in the camp and also train them to develop their personalities. Apart from running, we also hold sessions to teach them how to take care of buffaloes, what to feed, etc. All these trainings will be absolutely free for the participants.
