Adyar PDO imposes Rs 10000 fine on local hotel for disposing waste on road

Mangaluru: Adyar Gram Panchayat Project Development Officer (PDO) and staff have caught a hotel staff red-handed disposing of the hotel waste on street here on Tuesday October 5.

Speaking to News Karnataka Krishna Naik, PDO of Adyar Gram Panchayat informed that the hotel staff were found disposing garbage near  Baraka International School.  When inquired about the disposing of the garbage they argued that the waste does not belong to them. However, when we checked the waste, bills belonging to the same hotel was found, he said.

The PDO said, “As it is the first incident that came to our notice we have imposed Rs. 10,000 fine without filing case.” He warned if such incidents of disposing of the waste on roads or public places is further reported under the Adyar Gram Panchayat limits a case will be registered at the police station.
