Mangaluru: Ditsrict-in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai said that all the major political parties who took decisions regarding the Yetthinahole project are to be responsible for the current situation.
“Holding one political party or blaming one individual is not correct,” he said.
Addressing mediapersons, Rai said that the Yettinahole project was announced in the 2011 budget by former chief minister Yeddiyurappa. The project was implemented by his successors Sadanada Gowda and Jagadish Shetter.
“The accusations of BJP leaders that I’m silent on the Yettinahole issue. When ‘Nethravathi Nadhi Thiruvu Yojane’ was proposed, I was the one who conducted a workshop opposing the project,” he said.
Rai said that the BJP is spreading negative publicity to gain political mileage. And also that they are now talking about taking people’s opinion, which they themselves never did.
“All the previous and present political parties will be responsible for the project’s failure or success,” said Rai responding to the media query on the responsibility of Rs. 1300 crore spent for the controversial project.
On the Puttur temple row, he said that the A B Ibrahim is the Deputy Commissioner of the district and he should be seen only as a DC.
“One shouldn’t try giving religious color to the issue and disturb the communal harmony in this place,” he said.
