Moodbidri: ‘Alva’s Nudisiri 2015’, a national level convention hosted by Alva’s Education Foundation, Moodbidri will be held from November 26 – 29, 2015. The inaugural ceremony will be held at Smt Vanajakshi K Sripathi Bhat Vedike at 6pm on November 26.
Briefing about the programme, Chairman of Alva’s Foundation Mohan Alva said that eminent writer from Dharwad Dr Veena Shantheshwara will be inaugurating this year’s Nudisiri. Veteran scholar Dr TV Venkatachala Shastri will be presiding over the programme. “Nudisiri this year, will be held on the theme ‘Karnataka: Hosathanada Hudukaata’. The conferences will be held at Ratnakara Varni Vedike. The auditorium housing the Vedike has been named after in Nadoja Kayyara Kinhanna Rai in his honour,” he added.
Dr Alva further said that 10 achievers from various fields will be felicitated with ‘Alva’s Nudisiri Award – 2015’. They are Padmashree Dr Bannanje Govindacharya, Dr Sumathendra Nadiga and Dr BN Sumithra Bhai in the field of literature, Rajendra Singh Babu for cinema, Vidwan RK Padmanabha in the field of classical music, Dr BN Sumithra Bai in the field of literature, Eshwara Daidotta for journalisim, Leelavathi Baipadithaya in the field of Yakshagana, Varthooru Narayana Reddy in the field of agriculture, Shilpi Honappachar in the field of sculpture and Sayyed Sallaudin Pasha in the field of cultural service.
