Mangaluru: The Animal Care Trust (ACT), Shakthinagar is organising an adoption camp for dogs and cats at the Pet Pantry, Sai Arcade, Bejai on February 17.

The camp which will feature more than 20 puppies and 6 kittens will be held from morning 10 AM to 5 PM.

ACT has been organising adoption camps for dogs and cats from many years. The unique feature of ACT’s camp is that desi puppies and kittens are put up for adoption. These animals have been rescued from horrific conditions by the ACT staff and its volunteers. Once rescued and nurtured, ACT then puts them up for adoption in a pursuit to find forever homes.

ACT, a registered charitable trust that has been actively involved in caring for these voiceless beings across Mangaluru, and stands as a monument of compassion.

“It has been ACT’s endeavour to put an end to the miseries of these voiceless beings and find them forever homes,” says Suma Nayak, Trustee of ACT.

While no payment is charged for adoption, only a nominal registration fee of Rs 200 is accepted as it helps in covering the basic medical expenses incurred. Potential adopters must get a valid photo ID for registration. And children must be accompanied by parents/guardians, informed ACT
