Mangaluru: The Mangaluru South anti-rowdy squad arrested two persons involved in a major inter-state drug racket on Monday, December 25, after busting the network with few arrests some days ago.
The arrested are Karl D’Cunha alias Austin (29), a resident of Hampankatta and Anup D’Almeida (26) of Kulshekar.
Disclosing the details of the seizure, City police commissioner T R Suresh said, a total of 93 MDM pills, a Hyundai car, three mobile phones and Rs 30,850 in cash were seized from the duo valued over 2.35 lakhs.
This is addition to seizure of drugs like LSD, Methylene Dioxy Methamphet Amine (MDMA) and MDM tablets form the members linked to the network nabbed earlier. The Mangaluru South sub-divisional anti-rowdy squad had earlier arrested Nikhil K B, Shravan Poojary, Roshan Veigas and Bashim Basheer and produced them in court.
Karl D’Cunha involved in drug peddling in Bengaluru had cases registered against him in 2014 and 2015 there.
DCP’s Hanumathraya and Uma Prashanth led the police team in the nabbing and seizure operations.
