Mangaluru: Chaithra Kundapur, who is in judicial custody for alleged assault on a leader of Hindu outfit, was hospitalised after she was suffering from fever, on Friday, October 26.
Chaithra, a young journalist-turned-Hindutva activist known for her aggressive speeches was arrested after she allegedly assaulted Guruprasad of Panja, taluk secretary of Hindu Jagaran Vedike, with the help of her supporters at Subrahmanya in Sullia taluk on October 24.
Police nabbed Chaithra and six of her supporters on Thursday, October 25 and produced them before Sullia JMFC (Judicial Magistrate of First Class) Court. They were remanded to judicial custody until November 3. However, Chaithra was admitted to the prison ward of Wenlock Hospital, after she was suffering from fever on Friday afternoon, sources said.

Meanwhile, a video footage of Chaithra went viral in social media, in which Chaithra clarified that she did not assault Guruprasad, but she pushed Guruprasad for self-protection when he attempted to attack her. She also informed in the video that Guruprasad and his supporters had damaged the car in which she was plying and hatched a plan to murder her.
