Mangaluru: A quick operation by Bajrang Dal activists helped police recover 500 kg beef meat, which was being shifted in an Alto car to Kudroli slaughter house from near Mudipu here.

The activists stopped the car near Dongarakery and later handed it over to Police. A man has been apprehended in this connection.

The public expressed their ire over District Administration’s inefficiency. Despite the Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Ordinance, 2020 which prohibits the slaughter of cows, bulls, and bullocks of all ages, and buffaloes up to the age of 13 years, and sale, purchase, and disposal of these animals for slaughter, the sale and slaughter continues unabated.
