Mangaluru: World Konkani Centre, Konkani Language & Cultural Foundation Mangaluru-instituted Basti Vaman Shenoy Vishwa Konkani Seva Awards for the year 2017 have been announced.
The awards have been sponsored by Vishwa Konkani Kendra Chief Patron and Chairman of Manipal Global Education T V Mohandas Pai.
In the men’s category, Dr. G Nagendra Prabhu, Associate Professor, PG Department of Zoology & Research Centre, University of Kerala has been selected for Basti Vaman Shenoy Vishwa Konkani Seva Award-2017.
In the women’s category, Dr. Usha S Heranjal, Anu Eye Hospital, Valsad, Gujarat, has been selected for the same award.
The two personalities will receive Rs 1 Lakh each and a shawl, citation etc., at a glittering ceremony to be held on November 20 at Sri Sudheendra Hall, Canara Girls High School, Donagerkery, Mangaluru.
