Bangalore : Belthangady MLA Vasanth Bangera, who took oath in Tulu on the second day of the Assembly session on May 30, Thursday, has thereby giving more voice to the demand to grant  Tulu language its due status and recognition.

Many feel that Bangera has made the Tulunad proud by taking oath in Tulu. Bangera who first took oath in Tulu, later took oath in Kannada. At the same time, the objection raised by interim speaker Malikayya Guttedar  when Bangera took path in  Tulu has come under  severe criticism particularly when the speaker  remained mum when two MLAs of Belgaum took oath in Marathi on May 29, Thursday.
