Mangaluru: The State Government has decided to develop five tier-2 cities beyond Bengaluru and has set up an industrial township in Mysuru as a first step. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai stated recently that as part of ‘Beyond Bengaluru’ proposal, the Government wants to expand industrialisation in Mysuru, Mangaluru, Hubballi-Dharwad, Belagavi and Kalaburagi and added that these Districts will play an important role in industrialisation of the State attracting huge investments.
Speaking to NewsKarnataka Large and Medium Industries Minister Murugesh Nirani said, “Industrial township in five cities will create huge employment opportunities across the State. It will also help in the development of the North Karnataka region on par with other parts of the State. It will also expand industries which is now Bengaluru Centric to all parts of the State.”
It can be recalled here that recently Bommai also had stated that he had shared the secret of Karnataka’s success during his recent visit to Europe. He also emphasised as to how the Government has focused on skill development to tap the human resource potential in the State and has been already imparting training to 1.5 lakh people to make them employable.
Further, Nirani said, “Youth of Coastal and North Karnataka region will settle in their respective hometowns and migration to Bengaluru seeking employment opportunities will reduce as they will have opportunities to get employed in their own cities and towns.”
