Mangaluru: “The Bhagavadgita says that all the sections of the minorities are sinners and can be treated anyway, which is the reason behind the attack of Sundar Malekudiya”, said Prof K S Bhagawan, an Indian critic and a rationalist, during a press meet on Wednesday.

k.s.BhagvanHe also said that religion has created a mindset among the society, that the lower caste can be suppressed by the higher caste, thus without the fear of the law or the constitution the accused Gopal Gowda had the guts to do such a crime.

Further speaking about Hinduism, he said, “Hindu gods are not gods, Ram killed a Shudhra, did not trust his wife while Krishna had relationships with so many ladies, how can these be gods”.

“Pejawar Swamiji stood up and spoke during the ‘Made Snana controversy’ for the Malekudiya community, why isn’t he speaking now? Pejawar Swamiji is not bothered about Hinduism or any other religion he is here only for his own interest, to uplift himself”, Bhagawan alleged.

Condemning the act of brutality on Sundar Malekudiya, Karnataka Rajya Hindulida Vargagala Jagrutha Vedike state president KS Shivaramu also spoke during the meet. He said that accused Gopal Gowda, must be charged on the basis of Goonda Act and the entire family must get 20 lakhs from the State government as compensation, at least one person from the family should governmental job and Gopal Gowda must also resolve the land issue and give back the land to Sundar, they demanded.

Sundar Malekudiya is a farm labourer who was assaulted by Gopal Gowda, a local landlord and his accomplices over a land dispute.

Hindu organizations revolt:

BJP Minority Morcha state vice president Franklin Monteiro along with other Hindu organizations as well as BJP activists gathered near the press club with an aim to revile the anti-Hindu attitude of KS Bhagawan.

However, the police provided protection and arrested around 15 to 17 protestors and took them to the nearby police station.
