Moodbidri: A 17-year old youth died after he reportedly drowned in the Beluvai math lake on Sunday December 20.
It is learnt that the deceased is Akash, son of local BJP leader Manjunatha Rai, resident of Kotebagilu Baramelu here. Akash was a 1 year B Com student at Mahaveer College.
According to sources, Akash had gone for a swim with his friends in the evening. Suddenly, he lost control and got washed way. Rescue efforts by his friends did not help, it is said.
As the news spread, several BJP workers arrived at the Moodbidri government hospital where his body has been shifted.
Moodbidri police have registered a case.
