Mangaluru: Few BJP MLAs of Dakshina Kannada, on Friday, September 7, complained to Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, alleging that they were “ill-treated” by the police officer in front of the Zilla Panchayat office entrance. They have accused the officer of making them park their vehicles outside the entrance gate, despite knowing that they are MLAs of the district.

As soon as Kumaraswamy completed his press briefing, MLA Sanjeeva Matandoor, who is also the BJP President of Dakshina Kannada, along with Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath, Sullia MLA S Angara and Bantwal MLA Rajesh Naik who thronged the stage of Nethravathi Hall in ZP, approached Kumaraswamy with their complaint.

Sanjeev Matandoor, speaking to media, also alleged that the police also did the same to Sullia MLA S Angara when he asked his driver to bring his car inside ZP office premises, even after completion of the review meeting.

CM H D Kumaraswamy who heard the MLAs’ complaints, consoled them that the police might have done this for security reasons. He also ensured that in future, he would look into it that such things may not recur.

In the press meet, Kumaraswamy also said that the coalition government in its efforts to provide permanent relief to the Endosulfan victims, had asked Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Sasikanth Senthil to submit a report to the government studying their conditions.
