Mangaluru: In an horrific accident, a bike collided with a bus near Hampankatte signal in the City on Friday April 8. Both bus and bike were totally gutted in the accident.
On the afternoon of Friday, a bus named Ashel moving towards State Bank from Jyoti was hit by a bike moving from Hampankatte to Valencia at the Hampankatte signal. Due to the impact of the collision, the bike’s fuel tank caught fire and as the bike was under the bus the bus too caught fire immediately. However, the driver and the passengers escaped in the nick of time. The bike rider Dylan (26) from Ballalbagh suffered injuries on the leg and has been hospitalised.
Pandeshwar Fire and Emergency Services personnel came to the accident site and doused the fire. Police Commissioner N. Shashi Kumar too visited the spot.
