Sullia: In a horrific incident, four members of a family lost their lives when a car and lorry collided here on Tuesday, October 1. The accident occurred at Adkar Mavina Katte in the Jalsoor village.
The deceased have been identified as Hasainar Haji and his grandchildren Mohammad (40), Ibrahim (33) and Abdul Rahiman (36).
It is learnt that the Maruti Swift car in which five of them were travelling, collided with an Eicher lorry, which was plying from the opposite direction.
Of the five occupants of the car, three died on the spot while another died on the way to the hospital.
One person sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Sullia Government Hospital for treatment. From there, he was moved to a hospital in Mangaluru.
The deceased are said to be residents of the Monnangeri village of Madikeri.
According to the reports, they were travelling from Puttur to Madikeri when the accident occurred. They were returning after visiting a relative in a hospital.
