Mangaluru: Former MLA J. R. Lobo warned that an agitation would be launched against the BJP Government for insulting Narayana Guru by dropping his chapter from the 10th standard textbook.
Speaking to mediapersons on Wednesday May 18 here he said, “a tableau of Narayana Guru was rejected on Republic Day and the Government did not respond to the demand to name the Mangaluru Airport and Railway Station after him. The Central and State Governments as an insult have made sure that even the names of Dakshina Kannada banks are not existing anymore.”
He also noted that Basavanna and Periyar’s lessons too have been removed from the syllabus, and added that it is important that the students get to know regarding all religious leaders.
