Mangaluru: The CFCI Mangalore organised ‘Revive 2018’ Family Day here at Shanti Kiran, Bajjodi on Sunday, September 2 at 8 am. The entire CFCI community, comprising various segments of kids, youth, singles (working youth) and couples, participated in the event, towards the end of which the outgoing Bishop of the Mangalore Diocese was felicitated.
The event began with a Praise and Worship session and was followed by a cultural programme, which was kicked off by the tiny tots of the community who performed an action song. Various other programmes were held during the day and included folk dance, acapella, funny skits with morals and a Mando. Later, life-changing testimonies were shared by members of the community, following which a few spot games were held for the gathering.
After the festivities, the Holy Eucharist was celebrated by the community with Most Rev. Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Bishop of the Mangalore Diocese as the main celebrant. Rev. Fr. Victor D’mello, Parish Priest of Kirem, Rev. Fr. Aquin Noronha, Parish priest of St. Dominic Church, Ashoknagar and Rev. Fr. Anil D’Souza, Spiritual Director of CFCI Mangalore and Director of Family Life Service Centre joined were the concelebrants.
Later, the Bishop of Mangalore was felicitated with a shawl, bouquet of flowers and a letter of appreciation by the CFCI Mangalore community. The letter thanked him for his whole-hearted support to CFCI Mangalore, which was established during his tenure. The Bishop then gave his message to the community saying, “The Pope says that our society can improve only when family life improves, and as such, His Holiness has appreciated and encouraged our community to carry on the good work of making families better.”
The programme was concluded with fellowship and lunch.
