Mangaluru: Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, Bishop of Mangaluru launched ‘Amoris Matrimony’ a Christian matrimony web portal on Friday, October 26.
Msgr Maxim Noronha, Vicar General of Mangaluru Diocese; Fr Vijay Victor Lobo, PRO, Mangaluru Diocese; Fr Ligory Crasta, Fr Rayan Pais and Fr Clifford were present at the launching ceremony which was held at the Bishop’s House.
After launching the portal, the bishop said, “This is a good news to the Christian community that they will have their own matrimony web portal. Definitely, it will help a large number of eligible grooms and brides to find suitable partner. The name ‘Amoris’ itself has a good meaning which is very close to love and happiness. We consider weddings as holy and divine. Hope Amoris Matrimony will help our youth to build a holy family life.”
Briefing about the need of a Christian matrimonial web portal, its founder Melwyn Manoj said, “One of my friends who faced difficulties to find a bride made me think about online matrimonial. I shared my idea with my close ones and all appreciated my thinking and supported me to set up a matrimonial web portal. We all know today’s busy schedule and how our youths are facing difficulties to find suitable partners, especially those working abroad. Now ‘Amoris Matrimony’ will help them find partners without much hurdles.”
