Mangaluru: Lina, the Central Industrial Security Force’s (CISF) bomb detecting canine died on Sunday November 21 at the age of eight. The Labrador was excellent at detecting explosives and was one of the top canines in the Mangaluru International Airport’s Canine Squad (MIA).

Lina was put to rest with military honours on Sunday at the MIA.

Lina became famous on January 12, 2020, after she discovered the explosives allegedly put at MIA by Aditya Rao.

Lina was diagnosed with a kidney related disease in February of this year. According to authorities, she died in the early hours of Sunday owing to complications from the disease.

Lina, who was born on May 5, 2013, got training in sniffing out explosives at Ranchi before joining the CISF canine squad at MIA. The CISF officers fondly called her ‘Dolly,’ though the official documents has her name as ‘Lina.’

According to the sources, a new dog has been added to the airport canine squad division and is being trained in Ranchi.
