Mangaluru: MLA Vedavyas Kamath said the Chief Minister had instructed the authorities to allow the transportation of gravel stone and rock stone in undivided Dakshina Kannada district.
On Thursday, March 25, a delegation of Lorry and crusher owners and contractors association of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district, led by MLA Vedavyas Kamath and Udupi MLA Raghupathi Bhat, met with Minister of Mines & Geology, Murugesh Nirani. There was a talk held on the topic of development projects being stalled due to the imposition of the ban on transporting of gravel and rock stone.
“Many construction works have been discontinued without gravel,” he said.
He said that the delegation appealed to the Minister to remove the restriction. The Minister listened to the issue and addressed it with the CM.
Recognizing the seriousness of the issue, the chief minister B.S Yediyurappa has urged the authorities to take immediate steps to facilitate the transportation of gravel and stone in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts.
