Mangaluru: In what comes as a ray of hope and relief for the people of Karnataka who have been tirelessly protesting against the Yettinahole project, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has called for a meeting with the Dakshina Kannada representatives at Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru on Monday, October 19.
Information and Technology Minister SR Patil, Water Resources Minister MB Patil, Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Minister for Forest, Ecology and Environment and DK District in-Charge Minister Ramanath Rai, Health Minister UT Khader, Minister for Sports and Youth Services Abhayachandra Jain, MLA’s Vasant Bangera, Moideen Bava, JR Lobo, Shakuntala Shetty and S Angara and MLC Ivan D’Souza have reportedly been invited to the meeting.
The Chief Secretaries in the Forest Department, Water Resources Department, Department of Law, Managing Director of Karnataka Irrigation Corporation, Dakshina Kannada DC AB Ibrahim, SP Sharanappa and Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Sreevidya are the others who will reportedly participate in the meet.
DC Ibrahim has urged the environmentalists and social activists opposing the project to also turn up for the meet.
