Mangaluru: Taking up the instances of attacks on Hindu activists, the BJP and the VHP staged a stir in Mangaluru and warned the CM that he and his government would be responsible if communal unrest sparks in the state.
The Saffron outfits came united under banner-Hindu Hitharakshana Samiti on Monday outside Deputy Commissioner’s office to stage stir and addressing the protesters, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said that despite continued attacks on Hindu activists in various parts of the state, the government has failed to curb such incidents.
“When K J George was the Home Minister cattle trafficking was going on unabated. Now with Parameshwar becoming the Home Minister people walking on streets are also not safe,” he said adding that when criminals are shot dead, CM announces relief package, but when innocent Hindu youth are killed not even a single rupee is released.
VHP Leader and Pranth Adhyak Prof M B Puranik said that Hindus are known for their patience, tolerance and forgiveness. However, these virtues passed on from generations has become a bane for the Hindus.
“Prashanth Poojary in Moodabidri to Rudresh in Bengaluru, we have lost as many as eight Hindu youth and the government is yet to act,” he said.
Hindu Jagrana Vedike Leader Radhakrishna called upon the Hindus and the Muslims to live in harmony with each other. “We are also in a position to face attacks and also retaliate, but we want to live in harmony and build a strong nation,” he said.
