Mangaluru: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has directed that the district’s Covid – 19 first dose vaccine be completed by the end of this month.

Special vaccination camps should be held in places where the vaccination drive has been slow, such as Ullal, Kotekar, Someshwar, and other areas.

He was holding a virtual meeting with Deputy Commissioners and other senior officials of 18 districts. He expressed his displeasure with the vaccination drive’s delay. In the first dose of vaccine, the Dakshina Kannada District had a 96 per cent success rate. CM said that to complete the vaccination drive community and local leaders should be contacted.

“The officials should identify those who have not been vaccinated and go to their houses to convince them to get vaccinated,” the Chief Minister added, urging the officials to accept the challenge.

The district has only made 81 per cent progress on the second dose of vaccine. The achievement of the goal should be prioritised, he added.

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rajendra K. V. said that with the help of elected representatives, religious leaders, and MLAs, efforts will be made to reach 100 per cent vaccine coverage in vaccination drives.

Health Minister Dr. Sudhakar informed that officials should contact those who received the first dose of the vaccination to remind them of the second dose.
