Bantwal: November 15 appears to be “wild animals trapping day”. It all began with a leopard in Mysuru, then an elephant in Kodagu and finally a cobra in Bantwal.
The tiny cobra created panic among the staff members of horticultural department when it went through few files. It was finally caught and sealed in a chocolate container within minutes by an expert snake catcher giving relief to everyone around.
Staff members were seen sweating when it went round Director Dinesh Acharya’s chair and started moving in all directions rendering them virtually paralysed. Immediately they summoned a snake catcher Kiran to come to their aid. Within minutes he caught the small reptile and sealed it before releasing it in Vaggada Kodyamale forest.
Some said it came from a nearby temple dedicated to serpent god whereas others said it came in search of preys like rats. Staff members recalled a similar incident earlier when a snake had entered the same office premises.
