Mangaluru: Close on heels of the dreaded terror outfit ISIS issuing threat to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Francois Hollande, the coastal city of Mangaluru woke up to a shocking Friday morning with the arrest of an alleged IS sympathiser from Bajpe.

If sources are to be believed then Najamul Huda (25) and Sayyed Ansar Kasmi (25) have been detained from a shelter at Permude near Bajpe by the National Investigation agency and Anti Terror Squad, Mumbai sleuths.

Huda, son of a local cleric in Bajpe had joined RV College of Engineering in Bengaluru, but had discontinued due to shortage of attendance. It is believed that Huda had worked in a mobile store in Bengaluru for living. Cops have reportedly seized laptops and five mobile phones.

It is said that Huda’s family originally hailed from Bihar, but had settled in Mangaluru 25 years ago.

He was reportedly acting as a facilitator and motivator for the local coastal youth to join the terror group ISIL.

He will be taken to Mumbai for interrogation.

In total, six men have been arrested by the NIA in different parts of Karnataka in the last 24 hours on suspicion of links with ISIS.
