Mangaluru: A police head-constable has been suspended for allegedly being involved in illegal activities by Police Commissioner Dr P S Harsha on Saturday, November 2.

The suspended head-constable has been identified as Prashanth Shetty of Mangaluru East police station. It can be recalled that Mangaluru City police had recently launched a raid on an illegal massage centre located in Emporium Commercial Complex, Kankanady Bypass Road. During the investigation, police found that head-constable Prashanth Shetty was hand-in-glow with the owner of the illegal massage centre and assisted him in running the illegal business. Based on this, Commissioner Harsha suspended him from duty until further notice.

In his suspension letter, Harsha has asked Shetty not to indulge in any private or business-related work. He also asked the accused not to leave his native place without availing permission from the Mangaluru East police station inspector.
