Mangaluru: As the Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) elections are fast approaching, every political party is busy forming its list of candidates. The Congress party released its list of candidates for all 60 wards of the MCC here on Wednesday, October 30.
The list was released during a press conference held at a private hotel, by the KPCC with approval from its president, Dinesh Gundu Rao.
As the press conference concluded, former mayor of the MCC Gulzar Banu, who had attended the programme, got into a heated exchange with former MLA Mohiuddin Bava.
According to party sources, she was a ticket aspirant who was left out from the list released today.
Eye witnesses said that Gulzar Banu’s son Nihal, who was also at the venue, had a heated argument with Bava and it soon turned into a physical altercation.
However, the situation was brought under control by the other party leaders.
The MCC elections will be held on November 12.
