Cong, SDPI shielding cattle thieves, allege Yuva Morcha leader

Karkala : Naveen Nayak, Karkala taluk unit President of BJP Yuva Morcha has charged the Congress and SDPI leaders of  shielding  cattle thieves.

Addressing a protest programme organised by the Yuva Morcha at Karkala on Thursday April 24,  he said the political patronage to cattle thieves has led to unrest in the society.

He alleged that it has come to light that the cattle thieves who are activists of KFD the original organisation of the SDPI were behind the kidnap and murder of Prakash Rathod, the former bodyguard of  Advani in Moodbidri, the  murderous assault on Hebri station cop, the murder attempt on Bhoja Poojari on Bhuvanendra College road,  as well as the attempt on the life of town station SI Vinod Bhat and personnel Krishna and Santosh.

Referring to the recent Shringeri shoot-out, he said the deceased youth  had a criminal background and that he had several cases registered against him in various police stations. The government by announcing compensation to such people is encouraging criminal activities, he said and demanded that the compensation be withdrawn.

He also urged for the upgradation of Tanikod and Maala check posts and to provide armed security at the check post.

He further urged for stringent action against cattle smuggling.

Maniraj Shetty, local unit BJP President demanded compensation to those who lost their cattle.

Udaya S Kotian, Mahaveer Hegde, Rajesh Rao, Giridhar Nayak, Prakash Rao, Ratnaker Amin and others were present.
