Udupi: It is known that Sukesh Kunder , who had contested in the city municipal council elections from Herga, had informed the police and helped them in catching the accused.

The Manipal police had called all rowdy sheeters to the police station for interrogation, but Yogish who is also one of the rowdy sheeter was missing . This made Sukesh go suspicious about Yogesh, who then gave the leads to the police about it.

Under the suspicion Sukesh went to meet Yogish personally and even asked him why he did not visit the station and there he came to know that he involved in this crime. Yogish repeatedly did not appear before the police, and ultimately consumed poison.

The accused is expected to be taken to the crime spot at Madaga for verfication by the Police for further clues.

It is also learnt from the sources that, it was Yogesh who had brought the girl back and dropped her.

Also from reliabel sources it is learnt that the Police has nabbed the third accused Anand from Goa and are on their way back.

Manipal, gang rape: One of the accused ,confesses the crime and other attempts Sucide

Udupi: Hiriadka police station has taken custody of the two arrested and one of the accused Harish has been reported to have confessed the crime, sources said.

As per the sources , Harish said that, on the night of the crime, all three of them were in the influence of alcohol, and had not planned the gang rape , but it was done in a drunken sopor.

Harish reportedly has confessed that, he was driving the auto rickshaw, and the main person involved in the rape was Yogish who had forced the girl. Harish said, he has not sexually assualted the girl but was present there at the spot. He further said that the crime took place at Madaga in Hiriadka.

Hiriadka police ASI had visited Yogishs house for questioning, but did not find him home. Yogish later got a call from Manipal police. Due to the fear of the arrest, he attempted to commit suicide by drinking poison.

The auto rickshaw was located by the police at Harishs house.

Now the police is in the look out for the third person Anand who is reported to be hiding in Goa.

Manipal gang rape: Two accused arrested amongst the three

Udupi:A major breakthrough in the Manipal gang-rape case, the police on Thursday June 27 arrested two persons.

Yogish, Harish and Anand are names identified of the three accused . The police has arrested two amongst the three and have taken them to an undisclosed destination for questioning.

One of the accused Anand is been missing and has been reported to be seen in Goa. The police have already gone to Goa to arrest the accused.

The accused Yogish is reported to be an auto rickshaw driver and is also a wellknown rowdy of the area. He has also taken a vedio footage of the rape.
